W. James Otto Jr.
W. James Otto Jr. of Forks Township died Monday in Easton Hospital. Born August
15, 1922 in Phillipsburg, he was a son of the late W. James Sr. and Grace E.
(Nixon) Otto. He and his wife, the former Virginia Rogers, were married 58 years
in June. He retired as a lieutenant from Easton Fire Department in 1972 after
20 years. He was also an appraiser for Valley Federal Savings and Loan, Easton
and was a deputy for the Pennsylvania Game Commission. He served in the Navy
during World War II and was a member of the Tin Can Sailors Association. He was
a member of Dallas Lafayette Masonic Lodge 396; was a past high priest of the
Easton Royal Chapter and Pomp Council, Easton; Rajah Temple, Reading; V.F.W.
Post 1290, Easton; life member of Liberty Hose, Easton and graduated from Easton
High School in 1941. He was an avid hunter and fisherman. Survivors: Wife; son,
James H. Sr. of Forks Township; daughter, Eileen L. Walton of Palmer Township;
sisters, Jean Lacey and Rita Worrich, both of Palmer Township; four grandchildren,
two great-grandchildren. Two brother, Donald M. and Edmund R., died earlier.
Services: 2 p.m. Thursday in the Ashton Funeral Home, 1337 Northampton St., Easton.
Call 6:30-7:30 p.m. Wednesday and 1:30 p.m. until service time Thursday.
