Edwin Meixsell
Edwin Meixsell of 733 Washington Street, a former member of
the Easton Police force, died at 12:45 o'clock this afternoon,
at the Easton Hospital, of a complication of ailments, aged
65 years. He had been in ill health for a year, and entered
the hospital on June 21.
Deceased was born in Lower Mt. Bethel township, a son of the
late Mr. and Mrs. Michael Meixsell. He had resided in Easton
for a number of years. He served on the police force for a
long time and was lately employed by the Pennsylvania Utilities
Company. At one time he served as a poor director.
He was twice married. He is survived by his widow and four
children by his first marriage: Dr. Charles E. Meixsell, of
Northampton; Harvey E. Meixsell, of Easton; Mrs. Frank Ackerman
of Hanoverville; William Meixsell, of Springfield, Mont. and
by a step-daughter, Mrs. Peter Hines, of Easton; also by three
brothers and a sister- Jeremiah Meixsell, of Sandt's Eddy;
Abraham Meixsell and William Meixsell and Mrs. Alice dowdy,
all of Easton; and by seven grandchildren. He is a member of
the Dryland Lutheran Church, Hecktown. |
