Dr. Meixsell, Physician In Northampton
Dr. Charles E. Meixsell, 78, a Northampton physician, died
yesterday in his home in Catasaqua. He was the recipient
of the Northampton Exchange club's Golden Deeds award in
1955.
Dr. Meixsell was a resident of Northampton until his retirement
six years ago. He received a testimonial plaque from the
Pennsylvania Medical Society in 1959 for 50 years of service.
Dr. Meixell operated two drug stores in Northampton for
many years. He was a charter member of the Northampton Exchange
Club and the only man to serve three terms as president.
Born in Palmer Township, he was a son of the late Edwin
and Matilda Walters Meixsell. He was graduated from Nazareth
High School, Kutztown State College and Johns Hopkins University
Medical School.
Dr. Meixsell was a widower of the former Mabel Longyear,
who died in 1956.
Surviving are a sister, Mrs. Maggie Ackerman, Bethlehem
R. D. 2, and two brothers, Harvey E., Easton, and William
H., Hollywood, Calif.
