W. E. Kemmerer, Easton Realtor, Is Dead At 85
Active in Building up Wilson Borough: In Business Since ‘82
Wilson A. Kemmerer, 85 years old who has been active in the
real estate business in Easton since 1882 died on Saturday
night at this home; 114 Parker Avenue, after an illness of
three weeks.
Mr. Kemmerer was born near Hecktown, this county, a son of
the late Wiliam H. and Elizabeth Schug Kemmerer. Most of his
life was spent in this city. For a number of years he was engaged
in business with the late H.P.B Odenwedler as a partner and
with an office at 416 Northampton Street and after the death
of Mr. Odenwelder, he and his late Peter W. hay were partners
in the real estate business at the same office. Of recent years,
Mr. Kemmerer conducted business alone.
Mr. Kemmerer was active in building up of Wilson borough and
that section owes much to his work in developing tracts of
land and erecting dwelling thereon. He also had interests on
College Hill and in other sections.
His wife, Mrs. Sarah Schoch Kemmerer, died on June 30, 1935,
He is survived by a son, Frank B. Kemmerer, with whom he resided;
a daughter, Mrs. Roy C. Roach, of this city; one brother, Van
C. Kemmerer, of this city, and two sisters, Mrs. Fred Vollmer,
of this city and Mrs. Miranda Laub, widow of Joseph Laub of
Haymont, Easton R. D.2. He was a member of Grace Evangelical
and Reformed Church, College Hill. |
