Asher C. Herman, for many years a farmer near Lower Saucon Church in
Northampton County, died yesterday in the Quakertown Hospital in the
58th year. He had suffered a stroke two weeks ago, but prior to that
had been in apparent good health.
Born in Lower Saucon township, Northampton county, he was a son of
the late William H. and Ann Louise Frankenfield Herman. He resided
in the vicinity of his birth until Jan. 22 of this year when he moved
with his family to a farm at Zion Hill, near Coopersburg. Less than
a fortnight after taking over this farm he was stricken.
He was a member of the Lutheran an wing of Lower Saucon Church and
at one time served on the church council. The Rev. Robert Strauss of
that church will officiate at funeral services.
Surviving are his wife, Estella Larish Herman; two daughters, Pluma,
wife of Herman Boehm, Hellertown, and Joyce, at home, and one son,
Clayton A., at home, He is also survived by one grandchild and by a
brother, Stewart Herman, of Hellertown R. D. 2.
