Samuel Garis
Samuel Garis Died this mornig at 2 o'clock at the home of his
son, Corneliu Garis, on Lachenour Heights. He had been sick
for some time. The deceasd was a well known business man of
Easton, ahving conducted a furniture store here for a number
of years. In the 70's he served as a member of the board of
education. The deceased as seventy-eigth years of age and is
survived by the the following children; Mrs. Edward Hess, of
Camden.N.J.,; Irvin Garis, Mrs. Dr. Somer and Miss Tillie Garis,
all of Philadlephia; Dr. F.A. Garis, of West Bethlehem; Cornelius
W., and W. E. Garis of Easton and George Garis, of Altoona.
The deceased was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church, of west
Bethlehem. He was for a number of years assistant superintendent
of St. John's Lutheran Church Sunday School of this city.
