Mrs. Mary A. Garis Hess
Mrs. Mary A. Garis Hess, for many years a resident of Easton,
her native place but since the death of her husband living
elsewhere, died at 7 o'clock this moring at the ome of her
daughter, Mrs. Milton Leech, 202 Park AVenue, Collingswood,
N.J., Mrs. Hess, who attained her 80th birthday on May 23,
last, had been in frirly good health but on last Decoration
Day was taken very ill and snak Rapidly. She was the wido of
Edwin Charles Hess of Easton who has (*hole in obit)15 years.
She was the daughter of Samuel and Susan M Garis of Easton,
her father having been a very well known buisness man in Easton
for many years.
Deceased is survived by four daughters and four sons, Mrs.
Charles Stewart, Mrs. Samuel Ash of Camden N.J.; Mrs. Charles
Geibler of Almonesson, N.J., and Mrs. Milton Leech of Collingswood,
N.J.; Fred, William, George and Henry Hess, all of Camden N.J.
and two sisters, Mrs. Robert Sommers and Mrs. Tillie E. Bauer
of Philadelphia and four brothers, William E. Garis, of Bethlehem,
Cornelius E. Garis of Easton; Charles E. Garis of Phillipsburg,
and Dr. Frank A. Garis of Germantown. Mrs. Hess is also survived
by 20 grandchldren and 30 great-grandchildren. |
