Injuries Caused Death
Mr. Conine Had Been In Hospital Nearly Three Months
John F. Conine, 21 years old, died late yesterday afternoon in the
Easton Hospital, the result of injuries he received the evening of
July 24 last when he was bathing in the Delaware river at Raubsville.
Three cervical vertebrae were dislocated. For a time hope for his recovery
was entertained, but lately his condition failed to improve.
With his wife and several friends, Mr. Conine went to Raubsville to
spend a brief vacation and while he went bathing. After a time he dove
into the water, with the result that he was fatally injured when he
struck the bed of the stream.
Mr. Conine resided with the parents of his wife, Mr. and Mrs. Fred
Wendland, 126 Lewis street, Phillipsburg. Besides his wife he is survived
by his mother, Mrs. Anna C. Conine, South Side, Easton; four sisters
and a brothers, Mrs. Edgar Metler, Mrs. Russell Wilson, Phillipsburg,
Mrs. John Hoag, Mrs. Roy Riley and Thomas C. Conine, of South Side,
Easton.
Deceased was a member of the Christ Evangelical Church, South Side;
the Musicians' union and the Commonwealth Band. |
