Elmer E. Xander died in Hospital.
Elmer Ellsworth Xander, 71, of 733 Ferry street, a well known
salesman for the Davies Strauss Stauffer Company, wholesale
grocers, died at 11:30 this morning at Easton Hosptial. He
had been in poor health for the pst six months and suffered
from kidney trouble. On Sunday afternoon he was admitted to
the hospital for medical treatment.
Mr. Xander was born in Easton and was a son of the late Jonathan
and Anna Sabina Xander. He attended the Easton schools and
for over 40years had been a grocery salesman, first with the
G.G. Tombler Grocery Company and then with the Davies Strauss,
Stauffer Company. He worked up to
Friday last. Mr. Xander had a wide acquaintance in this vicinity
and was a popular and efficient salesman.
He is survived by his widow, Mrs. Annie Xander, and one sone,
John S. Xander, of this city. The late George L. Xander, an
Easton attorney, and the late Mrs. Bertha DeKraft, of New York,
were borther and sister of deceased. Mr. Xander for many years
took an active interest in Black Knight Commandery, No. 109
Kinghts of Malta, of this city and was a past chancellor cammander. |
