Edwin H. Wieder
Edwin H. Wieder, 80, a native of Riegelsville, died yesterday
at his home, 131 S. 4th St., Coplay.
Mr. Wieder was a member of the Board of Health, Coplay, from
1942 to 1955 and served as secretary for eight years. He was
a former Coplay school director and a Republican committeeman.
He was a retired stationary engeineer for the Universal Atlas
Cement Co., where he was employed 40 years. He retired in 1945.
A baseball fan, he played and coached the game in his early
years.
He was a son of the late Herman and Jennie Humann Wieder.
He moved to Coplay in 1900. He was married to the late Minnie
Miller Wieder.
He was a ember of St. John's Lutheran Church, Coplay; porter
lodge, F&AM, Catasauqua, and the American Club of Coplay.
Survivng are a daughter, Mrs. Arthur L. Miller, Coplay, with
whom he resided; a brother, Michael, Easton; three grandsons
and six great-grandchildren. |
