Mrs. Susan R. Cyphers
Mrs. Susan Rosanna Cyphers, widow of Jesse K. Cyphers, died
at 3:30 yesterday afternoon at the home of her son-in-law and
daughter, Mr. and Mrs. William H. Sauerwein, 106 South Third
Street, this city, of pneumonia after an illness of four days.
She would have reached the age of 78 years on January 10 next.
Mrs. Cyphers was a native of South Easton and was born on
January 10, 1856. She was a daughter of the late Stephen and
Anna Wilhelm. Her entire life was spent in this city. Her husband
who was well know resident of the South Side, died in 1912.
Seven children survive her: John Benjamin Cyphers, Phillispburg;
Mrs. Sarah Carling, Jesse G. Cyphers and George Cyphers, Easton;
Mrs. Mabel Walsh and Mrs. Carrie Reagen, Phillipsburg, and
Mrs. Rose Sauerwein, wife of William H. Sauerwein, Easton.
Eleven grandchldren also survive her. Mrs. Cyphers was the
last surviving member of a large family. She was a member of
the Second M.E. Church, South Side. |
