Charles H. Unangst, Former City Employee
Charles Henry Unangst, 83, a retired operator of the Easton
Water Bureau of Water, died at 8:45 a.m. today in Easton
Hospital.
Mr. Unanst had been in failing health and was admitted to
the hospital two weeks ago.
He retired Jan 1, 1951, after 35 years of service with the
Bureau of Water. Most of his time he spent as an operator
at the 25th street pumping station.
Before his city employment he had worked for the Metropolitan
Edison Co. and the Alpha Portland Cement Co. at Martin's
Creek.
He was a meber ofSt. Paul's Third Lutheran Church and it's
Men's Club, Columbia Lodge 139, Odd Fellows and the Junior
Order United American mechanics, all of Easton.
Mr. and Mrs. Unangst would have observed their 50th wedding
anniversary in June.l
Born in Forks Township, Mr. Unangst was a son of the late
Charles H. and Sophia Rader Unangst. He attended schools
in Forks but lived in Easton most of his life.
