Grace S. Frederick -- N.J. schoolteacher
Grace S. Frederick, 91, of 124 Main St., Bloomsbury, died
Wednesday, Aug. 25, in Easton Hospital. She was a retired schoolteacher,
teaching for 45 years in the districts of Pohatcong Township,
Brainards and Bloomsbury. Born Jan. 30 1908, in Carpentersville,
she was a daughter of the late George and Rhoda Reimel Stamets.
She was a member of Greenwich Presbyterian Church in Stewartsville.
She graduated in 1924 from Phillipsburg High School. She also
graduated from the Newton Normal School in Newton and took
extension courses from Rutgers University and Trenton State
College. She was a member of the New Jersey Retired Educators
Association,
National Education Association, Greenwich Friendship Club,
Sunny Seniors Club and Warren and Hunterdon Retired Teachers.
For many years she was a member of the State Pension and Annuity
Fund Committee. Her husband, John, died in 1973. She is survived
by four sisters, Gertrude Woolf and Barbara Cappelletti, both
of Phillipsburg, Lois Zankls of Hampton, Va., and Claire Shappell
of Stewartsville; and two brothers, George of Easton and Richard
of Bloomsbury. Services will be held at 11 a.m. Monday in the
Greenwich Presbyterian Church, 17 Greenwich Church Road, Stewartsville.
Call 7 to 8:30 p.m. in the Rush-Devlin Funeral Home, 42 Church
St., Bloomsbury. Burial will be in Greenwich Cemetery in Stewartsville.
