Enos Snyder
Enos Snyder, a well known resident of this city, died in a
hospital at Lititz Springs, near Lancaster, yesterday at 1
p.m. He had been at the hospital for six weeks. He was in the
68th year of his age. Deceased was a native of Lower Mt. Bethel
Township, and had lived in this city for over 25 years, first
on the South Side, and later with his son, J. Irvin Snyder,
No. 36 North Eighth Street. He was a blacksmith by trade. He
is survived by two sons, Samuel R. L. Snyder, of the South
Side, and J. Irwin Snyder, and one sister, Mrs. Elizabeth Gruver,
and one brother, William H. Snyder, also of Easton. He was
a member of Manitoba Tribe, No. 125 I.O. R. M. He was a veteran
of the Civil War, having served for nine months as a private
in Company K, One Hundred and Fifty-Third regiment, Pennsylvania
Volunteer Infantry, and one year in Company F, Ninth Regiment,
Pennsylvania Volunteer Cavalry. He was a member of St. Peter’s
Reformed Church, South Side. The body will be brought here
and the funeral will be held from the home of J. Irvin Snyder,
36 North Eight Street.
