Mrs. John E. Carpenter
Mrs. Helen Shimer Carpenter, of 24 North Third Street, wife of John E. Carpenter, died yesterday at her home after a long illness. She was born in Phillipsburg, daughter of the late Joseph R. and Sallie Howell Shimer.
Mrs. Carpenter was a member of St. Paul’s Lutheran Church and the Penelope Club, and a former member of Easton Woman’s club and Peggy Warne Chapter, Daughters of the American Revolution.
Besides her husband, she is survived by a daughter, Mrs. Helen Carpenter Reaser, of Swarthmore. A sister, Mrs. William W. Bryan Sr., Hopewell, N.J. and grandchildren. |
