Franklin P. Shimer, 83, of 120 Bucks St., Wernersville, died Saturday
in Reading Hospital. He was the husband of Gertrude S. (Stetler) Shimer.
He was a hardening room foreman in the needle department of the former
Textile Machine Works, Reading, retiring in 1960 with 30 years service.
Shimer was a former member of the Wernersville borough council.
Born in Lower Saucon Township, he was a son of the late Hamilton and
Bertha (Heinline) Shimer.
He was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church, Wernersville, where he
was a former church councilman.
He was the past master of the Hellertown Masonic Lodge #563 F&AM,
and a past potentate of the Shriner Rajah Temple, Reading.
Survivors: Wife, and sisters, Mrs. Esther Franks of Bethlehem, and
Mrs. Ruth Heater of Freemansburg.
Services: 10 a.m. Wednesday, Lamm & Witman Funeral Home, Wernersville.
