Jacob Reimer Fails to Recover From Accident
Jacob D. Reimer, 87 years old, of 24 South main Street Bangor,
died at the Rosencrans Hospital, East Stroudsburg, at 5 o’clock
this morning from injuries sustained in a fall at his home
four weeks ago. Mr. Reimer received a broken hip, and his age
prevented his recovery.
He was well known in the slate region. Mr. Reimer was a native
of Upper Mt. Bethel Township and resided there all his life
until six years ago when he removed to Bangor. He was a retired
farmer, and served a term as school director of Upper Mt. Bethel.
Deceased was a member of Christ Reformed Church, Stone Church,
and was president of the consistory for many years. Mr. and
Mrs. Reimer celebrated their 63rd wedding anniversary last
October.
He is survived by his wife, Malinda; two sons, Edward and
Eli, Reimer, of Bangor; a daughter, Mrs. Luther Shook, of Ackermanville;
a s brother, John Reimer, of Stone Church, and four sisters,
Mrs. John Straub, and Mrs. Rebecca Beck, of Stone Church; Mrs.
Harriet Keifer, of Easton, and Mrs. Sarah Steer, of Bangor.
The funeral will be held from his late home on Monday at 2:30
p.m. with Rev. John O. Reagle in charge of the services. Interment
will be made in the Reformed Church cemetery at Stone Church.
