Valentine Meade, 73, Purchases Director For Jersey Firm
Valentine M. Meade, 73 Spring and Iron Streets, West Easton,
died yesterday afternoon in Easton Hospital where he was a
patient two weeks.
Mr. Meade was director of purchases for Thomas Edison Inc.,
West Orange, N.J. He retired in 1958 after more than 45 years
with the company.
Born in Sayre Pa., Aug. 1, 1894, a son of the late Robert
and Jennie Mutchler Meade, he lived in West Easton since his
retirement.
He was of the Lutheran faith and a member of Delaware Lodge
52, F&AM, Phillipsburg; Lehigh Consistory, Allentown, and
the Sons of the American Revolution. He was a graduate of Lerch's
Preparatory School, Easton.
Survivors include his widow, the former Ophelia Klotz; a son,
Bertine R. Alexandria, Va.; a daughter, Mrs. Lillian D. Rice,
West Easton; a sister, Mrs. Lillian S.M. Decker, Easton, and
four granddaughters.
The funeral wil be held at 10 a.m. Saturday at the Heck Memorial
Home, Easton. |
