Charles Laubach, Ex-Easton School Director, Is Dead
Retired Buyer, 78, Was Active in Masonic, Church Affairs
Charles Milton Laubach, 78, veteran department store buyer who was a former member of the Easton School Board, died today at 8:28 a.m. at his home, 145 S. 8th St., Easton. He had been bedfast for the last five months.

Mr. Laubach was employed 50 years by William Laubach and Sons department store here. When he retired 10 years ago he was the head buyer in the ladies suit, coat and dress department of the store.

He was elected to a four-year term on the School Board in November, 1931. In April 1933, he resigned from the board.

Mr. Laubach also was a former member of the board of trustees of the Easton Public Library. His service as a trustee took place during the 1930's.

Aside from his activity in civic and community life, he took an interest in church and Masonic affairs for many years.

he was a member of St. Mark's Evangelical and Reformed Church, a former president of the St. mark's men's Club, and a one-time superintendent of the Sunday school of the church.

As a Mason, he was a member of DaLar Lodge 396, F&A.M. and Hugh dePayens Commandery 19, Knights Templar, both of Easton; Rajah Temple of the Mystic Shrine, Reading; the Lehigh Valley Club, Allentown, and the Forks of the Delaware Shrine club.

Born in Williams Township on June 14, 1875, he was a son of the late Abram and Emma Hartzell Laubach. Last September, he and his wife, the former Nellie Agnes Derr, observed their 53rd wedding anniversary. The Laubach's resided at the Eighth street address nearly all their married lives.

Surviving in addition to his widow are a daughter, Miss Adele Laubach, at home, and a brother, George B., of Palmer Township.
