John Loudenberry, Dixie Cup Retiree
John D. Loudenberry, 86, of 638 S. Main St., Phillipsburg, died
Sunday, July 15, in Warren Hospital.
He was a supervisor in the shipping department at the former
Dixie Cup Co. in Wilson Borough for 30 years, retiring in 1971.
Born Dec. 22, 1914, in Phillipsburg, he was a son of the late
John P. and Elizabeth Weil Loudenberry. He resided in Harmony
Station, Harmony Township, for 51 years, moving to Phillipsburg
four years ago.
He attended Phillipsburg Alliance Church.
He served in the Army during World War II. He saw action in
the Philippines and New Guinea.
He was a life member of the Harmony Township Volunteer Fire
Co. He was a member of Veteran of Foreign Wars Post No. 9308
in Phillipsburg and Rockburg Grange No. 116.
He was a square dance fiddler in the Harmony Township area
for many years.
His wife, the former Susan R. Young, died in 1990.
He is survived by nieces and nephews.
A brother Harry, and two sisters, Frace Frace and Helen Quick,
died earlier.
Services will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday in the Rupell Funeral
Home, 465 Memorial Parkway, Phillipsburg. Call from 7 to 9
p.m. Wednesday in the funeral home.
Burial will be in Fairmount Cemetery in Phillipsburg.
