Milton S. Lehr, 75, Ex-College Employee
Milton S. Lehr, 75, of 132 A Lincoln St., Easton, a retired employee
of Lafayette College, died at 2:15 a.m. today in Easton Hospital,
where he was admitted on Dec. 10.
Born in Raubsville on March 6, 1879, he was a son of the late
Madison and Margaret Transue Lehr. He had been employed in
the maintenance department o the college for 25 years, retiring
three years ago. Mr. Lehr was of the Evangelical and Reformed
faith.
Surviving are his widow, the former Gertrude M. Schmidt; a
son, Daniel Lehr, of Easton; a daughter, Mrs. George Werkheiser,
of Asbury, N.J.; a sister, Mrs. Samuel Aicher, of Palmer Township;
four stepsons, Charles Peters, of Glen Gardner; Harry Peters,
of Arizona; William Peters, of Harrisburg, and Russell Peters,
of Jersey City, N.J.; seven stepdaughters, Miss Violet Peters,
of Richmond Hills, Long Island, N.Y.; Mrs. Jack Lawson, of
Allentown; Mrs. Leroy Ashenfelter, of Easton; Mrs. Floyd Wermuth,
of Philadelphia; Miss Catherine Peters, of Easton; Mrs. Bruce
LaRose, of Washington, D.C. and Mrs. Marlen Kern, of Nazareth;
10 grandchildren and 7 great-grandchildren. His first wife,
the former Sarah Kreitz, died before him.
Funeral services will be held on Friday at 2 p.m. at the Ashton
Funeral Home. |
