Stricken At Wheel, Nazareth Man Died From Many Injuries
Lost Control When Illness Came On, Car Landed in Field and
William Laubach Was Fatally Hurt
William Laubach, 46, years old, of the Nazareth Inn, Nazareth,
died in the Easton Hospital from injuries sustained several
hours earlier when he was thrown out of his automobile on the
Nazareth-Easton highway near Hollo and his car crashed through
a fence and overturned in a field. He suffered an apoplectic
stroke while at the wheel of the automobile.
An examination at the hospital by Dr. Theodore Reichbaum,
deputy coroner, revealed that Mr. Laubach had suffered a broken
neck and several broken ribs which punctured his lungs. The
examination also showed that he had a stroke of apoplexy before
sustaining the injuries.
Mr. Laubach had been in ill health for the past 15 years and
recently had been suffering spells of weakness. He was however
apparently in fair health when he left Nazareth on Saturday.
A certificate of accidental death was issued by the coroner’s
office.
Born at Georgetown, near Nazareth, Mr. Laubach was a son of
the late William and Emma Knecht Laubach, for a number of years
he resided at Hecktown but had been a resident of Nazareth
for about 12 years.
Mr. Laubach leaves eight children, Mrs. Edgar Roth, Nazareth,
Mrs. Frank Lohr, Bethlehem; Mrs. Paul Newhard, Bethlehem; Mrs.
Albert Dieter, Hanoverville; Walter Laubach, Newburg; Roy,
Merritt and Verna Laubach, of Hecktown. He also leaves a brother,
Richard, of Nazareth, a sister, Mrs. Emma Schmoyer, of Bethlehem
and eight grandchildren.
The funeral will be held on Wednesday afternoon from the home
of his daughter, Mrs. Roth of Nazareth. Services in Hecktown
Church will follow. Interment will be in Hecktown Cemetery. |
