Howard W. Lance, Nabisco Night foreman
Howard W. Lance , 73, of Warren Have, the Warren County nursing
home in Mansfield Township, a lifelong resident of Phillipsburg,
died Saturday, March 21, at Warren Haven.
He was a night foreman at Nabisco, Bethlehem.
Born April 20, 1924, in Phillipsburg, he was a son of the
late Clyde and Jennie Nixon Lance.
He was a member of First United church of Christ, Easton.
An Army veteran of World War II, he served in the South
Pacific where he participated in four landings. He was the
recipient of six medals including the Bronze Star. He served
wit the 103 rd Infantry, 43rd Wing Division, 8th Army Headquarters.
He was past commander of the now defunct B.J.Donovan American
Legion Post, Phillipsburg; past commander and chaplain of
the Warren County American Legion Post; past sergeant at
arms for the "40&8:" a member of citizens Hose
and Order of the Fleas, both of Eston; a member of the 43rd
Division Veterans Association, the 103rd Infantry Veteran
Association and the Circus Historical Society.
He is survived by a son, David of Lopatcong; a daughter;
and four grandchildren.
Services will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday at the Finegan
Funeral Home, 302 Heckman St., Phillipsburg. There will be
no calling hours.
Burial will be in Northampton Memorial Shrine, Palmer township. |
