Roy D. Knecht, 73, Nazareth Machinist
Roy D. Knecht, 73, of 201 Lincoln Ave., Nazareth, a machinist
employed for 57 years at the Kreamer Textile Co., Nazareth,
died yesterday at his home shortly after returning from work.
He had been under the care of a doctor.
Born in Lower Nazareth, he was a member of St. John’s
United Church of Christ, Nazareth.
He was a veteran of World War I, a charter Member of the Harold
V. Knecht Post, American Legion, receiving his 50 year pin
in 1968; a member of the Men’s Bible Class of St. John’s
Church and its treasurer since 1957; a member of the IOOF Lodge,
Hecktown, and a former district deputy grand master in the
IOOF.
He is survived by his widow, Marion Stecker Knecht; a daughter,
Mrs. Paul Siegfried, and a sister, Mrs. Floyd Miller, both
of Nazareth and a granddaughter.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday in the Bartholomew
Funeral Home, 211 E. Center St., Nazareth and burial will be
in Hope Cemetery, Hecktown. |
