Bullet in his Brain
Willaim S. Kugler Shoots Himself in Effort to End his Life
and Succeeds.
Becoming despondent and suffering with a nervous attack, William
S. Kugler made an attempt to 10 o'clock this morning to end
his life at his home, 215 North Twelfth Street, by shooting
himself in the right temple. He was alone at the time. Mrs.
Kugler was away on a visit to relatives in New York city. One
of the Mr. Kuglers sons returned shortly after the shooting
and found his father catching the blood in the basin. Dr. Walter
was summoned and at noon when it was notice that the injured
man's condition was growing worse rapidly he was removed in
the ambulance to the hospital where he died at 3 o'clock this
afternoon.
Mr. Kugler was about 55 years old. He was employed as a clerk
at Franklin's grocery store until last Friday. When he quit
the place and tried to secure a job elsewhere. A numbers of
years ago, when he resided on West Washington Street, Kugler
attempted suicide but on that occasion the bullet failed to
penetrate the skull. On this occasion, however the bullet entered
the head and was buried in the brain.
Besides his wife the deceased is survived by the following
children: Raymond C. Kugler, Lewis Kugler, and Mrs. Ray Reimer
of this place and Mrs. William Andrews, of New York City, also
by one brother Frank Kugler of Phillipsburg, and two sisters,
Mrs. Benjamin Raub, of Phillipsburg, and Mrs. George King,
of Easton. |
