Dorsey H. Knoble
Dorsey H. Knoble, 85 years old, a resident of Hellertown for
the last 60 years and a former teacher in Lower Saucon township
and Hellertown schools died at 11 p.m. Saturday at this home,
50 East Depot Street, Hellertown, after an illness since lst
July.
Mr. Knoble was born March 14, 1858, in Williams Township,
Northampton County, a son of the late John and Esther Hoover
Knoble. He was a graduate of Trach's academy, Easton, and for
17 years was a school teacher at Limekiln, South Easton and
Hellertown. Later he was employed as a clerk by the former
Thomas Iron Co., and also by the Hellertown Union Cemetery
Association.
He was a long time rmember of Christ Evangelical and Reformed
Church, Hellertown, and also the Church brotherhoods. Fraternally
he was a member of Saucona lodge, No. 100, I. O.O. F. Hellertown.
He is survived by three daughters, Mrs. William Prosser, of
Bethlehem; Miss Naomi E. Knoble and Miss Anna M. Knoble, at
home; a brother, Asher Knoble, of Easton; two sisters, Mrs.
Ida Snyder of Easton and Mrs. Margaret Kichline, of Williams
Township, 10 grandchlren, and 13 great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held at 2:30 p.m. Wednesday at the
Templeton funeral home, 326 Main street, Hellertown, with the
Rev. Adam Schellhase officiating. Interment will be in Hellertown
Union Cemetery. |
