Simon P. Kieffer
Simon P. Kieffer, 58, son of the late Simon Peter and Louisa Buskirk Kiefer, of 1403 Washington Street, this city, died at :35 this morning at the Easton Hospital for medical treatment on Saturday.
Mr. Kieffer was born in Easton. His father was a well known railroad conductor and served as a member of Select council from the Sixth Ward and was also a truant officer.,
The deceased lived in this city all his life and had many friends there. On Saturday last he suffered a heart attack which caused him to fall. He received injuries which resulted in his death. In 1905 he was stricken with paralysis and his health had been poor since that time. He nevertheless was able to go about the city.
Mr. Kieffer served in the Spanish American War and enlisted on August 4, 1899. He served in the Phillip9ines as a member of Company B. 28th United States Volunteers. He was a member of Camp Wyckoff, No. 43, United Spanish-American War Veteran, and attended St. Mark's Reformed Church.
He is survived by one brother, Robert E. Kieffer, of this city and four sisters, Miss Ida G. Kieffer, Mrs. William B. Roberts and Mrs. Amos King, all of Easton and Mrs. Alfred Bradley of Philadelphia. |
