Herbert E. Kiefer, 73, Retired Railroader
Herbert E. Kiefer, 73, died at 2:30 a.m. today at the home of his son-in-law and daughter, Mr. and Mrs. Jay Edwards, 15 Third St., Glendon.
Mr. Kiefer was a retired employee of of the Lehigh Valley Railroad. He retired eight years ago.
Born in Williams Township on Jan 27, 1886, he was a son o the late William and Ida King Kiefer. His wife, the former Bertha Shupe, died in 1948.
He was a member of St. John's Lutheran Church, Williams Township, and the Brotherhood of Railroad Trainmen.
Surviving, in addition to his daughter with whom he resided, are three other daughters, Mrs. Louis Esposito, Washington, N.J.; Mrs. Ralph Smith and Mrs. Clifford Martin, both of West Easton; two sons, Clinton Kiefer, of Leroy, N.Y., and Herbert E. Kiefer, Jr., West Easton; a brother, William, Easton; seven grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
Funeral arrangements are being made by the Heck Memorial Home, Easton. |
