George H. Kiefer Sr., 83, of Kiefer Road, Bangor, died Oct. 20 in his home. He was the husband of the late Dorothy (Cole) Kiefer.

He was the developer for Kiefer Estates, Bangor, and previously was a the owner and operator of Riverside Dairy, Bangor.

Born in Lower Mount Bethel Township, he was a son of the late Arlington J. and Grace M. (Good) Kiefer.

He was a member of Sap Swamp Hunting Camp, Pike County; Tall Cedars of Lebanon-Easton Forest 35; Portland Masonic Lodge; Ancient Accepted Scottish Rite, Allentown, and Rajah Temple, Reading. He was a member of the National Rifle Association and a life member of the Dyle E. Bray Veterans of Foreign Wars Post, Bangor. He served on the board of the Church Hill Cemetery.

Survivors: Sons, George H. Jr. of Bangor, Terry L. of Martins Creek; daughters, Shelba J. Fogel of Bath, Joan M. DeBoer of Bangor, Heleen E. Parker of Allentown; brothers, Arling J. of Bangor; sister, Helen E. Acton of Bangor; caregivers, Adam and Jana Arden, with whom he resided; 14 grandchildren, 20 great-grandchildren.

Services: 11 a.m. Friday, James J. Palmeri Funeral Home, Route 611 and Alpha Avenue, Martins Creek. Call 7-8:30 p.m. Thursday.

Contributions: Slate Belt Visiting Nurse Association, Bangor, or Sandt's Eddy/Lower Mount Bethel Fire Company.
