Benjamin F. Kiefer
Benjamin F. Kiefer, 87, a former Agent for the Prudential Insurance Co., died on Sunday morning at the home of his son-in-law and daughter, Mr. And Mrs. Stephen J. Laubach, at Allentown. For many years Mr. Kiefer lived in West Catasauqua and since 1916 had resided in Allentown. His wife, Henrietta Saunders Kiefer, died 30 years ago. He is survived by eleven children and one sister, Mrs. Harry Grube, of Easton.

Benjamin F. Kiefer Dies; Retired Insurance Agent
Former Resident of West Catasauqua was 87 years old
Benjamin F. Kiefer, a former agent for the Prudential Insurance Co. and well known throughout the city, passed away at 10:50 Sunday morning at the home of his son-in-law and daughter, Mr. and Mrs. Stephen J. Laubach, 1046 Hamilton Street, at the age of 87 years 2 months and 4 days.
Mr. Kiefer resided for many years in West Catasauqua, but had lived in Allentown since 1916. He was a member of Seibert E.C. church.
His wife, Henrietta C., nee Sanders preceded him in death thirty years ago. Surviving him are eleven children: James A., Mickleys; Elmer E. Reading; Harry A. and Benjamin F., Jr., West Catasauqua; Mrs. Ralph Snyder, Fullerton; Miss Jennie I. Kiefer and Mrs. Joseph Kane, Catasauqua; Mrs. Alice G. Stolz, Mrs. Thomas Bord and Mrs. Stephen J. Laubach, Allentown; and Mrs. Charles McKay, Jr., Philadelphia.
There are also twenty-five grandchildren and two great grandchildren, as well as one sister, Mrs. Harry Grube, Easton. Three Children preceded him in death. He was twice married, his second wife, Rose (Snyder) Kiefer, also having passed away some years ago.
Funeral services will be held at 2 o'clock Wednesday afternoon from the home of his son-in-law and daughter, Mrs. and Mrs. Joseph Kane, 218 Pine Street, Catasauqua. Interment will be made in Fairview Cemetery, Catasauqua. Viewing Tuesday from 7 to 9. |
