William T. Gruver
William Theodore Gruver, 60 years old, 1322 Spring Garden Street,
a well known resident of this city, died at Dr. Betts’ Hospital
at 12:45 o’clock this morning from complications, after
an illness of three weeks. He was admitted to that institution
for medical treatment on Thursday last.
He was born in Easton and was a son of the late Mr. and Mrs.
Jeremiah Gruver. He was a resident of this city all his life
and for many years was sales manager of this district in the
employ of the Arbgast & Bastian Meat Company of Allentown.
During his stay with that company, Mr. Gruver made a host of
friends who held him in high esteem.
He was very prominent in fraternal organizations and was a
member of the Knights of Malta; Knights of Pythias, Amana Lodge,
No. 77; Junior Order United American Mechanics, Malaska Council,
No. 4, Phillipsburg and Loyal Order of Buffaloes, herd No.
7. He was also a devout member of the Trinity Episcopal Church,
Easton.
Besides his wife, Mrs. Lila Gruver, he is survived by three
brothers, Irwin, of Phillipsburg; George, of Easton and Robert
Gruver, of Stewartsville, and a sister, Mrs. Luther Kinney,
of Phillipsburg.
