J. James Ebner, 75 Retired Estimator at Cameron Pump.
J. James (Jim) Ebner, 75, died yesterday in his home, 650 Corliss
Ave., Phillipsburg, after a six-month illness.
An estimator at the Cameron Pump Division of Ingersoll-Rand
Co., Phillipsburg. for 47 years, he retired in 1968.
He formerly lived at 1817 Lehigh St. Wilson.
Born in Glendon on March 7, 1903, he was a son of the late
Fred and Flora Diehl Ebner. He lived in Wilson for 30 years
and in Phillipsburg for the last year.
Mr. Ebner was a member of the Wesley United Methodist church,
Phillipsburg. Where he was a former member of the official
board, was on the building committee of the present church
sanctuary and was one of the organizers of the Wesley Ushers
Association.
He was a member of Delaware Lodge 52, F&AM, Phillipsburg;
Scottish Rite Valley of Trenton; Warren County Forrest 14,
Tall Cedars of Lebanon; a member and past patron of Delaware
Chapter 50. Order of Eastern Star. Phillipsburg, and a member
and past watchman of Shepherds of Soloam Order 13. White Shrine
of Jerusalem Easton.
Mr. Ebner was a life member and former secretary of the Easton
Bowling Association. He bowled on the Cameron team in the Ingersoll-Rand
and Industrial leagues.
He coached the Cameron baseball and basketball teams in the
Industrial League.
Surviving are his wife, the former Ruth Naomi Brown; two sons,
John A of Phillipsburg and Frederick G, of Syracuse, NJ; a
daughter, Mrs. William H Meyers, Parsippany, NJ two sisters,
Mrs. Estella Everhart, Easton and Mrs. Mary Kuebler, Albany,
NY, four grandchildren, two great-grandchildren and nieces
and nephews.
Services will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday in the Rupell Funeral
Home, Phillipsburg. Interment will be in Northampton Memorial
Shrine. Delaware Lodge 52. F&AM will conduct services at
8 p.m. tomorrow in the funeral home
