G. Allen Young -- longtime farmer
G. Allen Young, 84, formerly of Riegelsville, Pa., died Saturday, March 30, in ManorCare Health Services, Palmer Township. He worked for the Northampton Farm Bureau in Tatamy for 20 years, retiring in 1994. Before that, he was a farmer in Durham Township for 45 years, working first with his father for 19 years and then running Young Brothers Farm with his brother for 26 years.

Born May 14, 1917, in Alpha, he was a son of the late George W. and Leola Laubach Young.

He was a member of St. Peter's Lutheran Church in Riegelsville, where he was a former councilman. He was a lifetime member of the Farmers Sportsmen's Club in Holland Township, the Springtown Fish and Game Club,, the Riegelsville Fire Co., was a charter member of the Rocky Ridge Hunting Club and enjoyed trap shooting and hunting.

His wife, the former former Ethel Kinney, died in 1990.

He is survived by a son, a daughter, two brothers, a sister, eight grandchildren and eight great-grandsons.

Services will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday in the Robert W. Snyder Funeral Home, 327 Easton Road, Riegelsville. Call from 10 a.m. Tuesday to time of services in the funeral home. Burial will be in the Riegelsville Union Cemetery.
