Vernon C Holland
Vernon Charles Samuel Holland, 67, of 5 Catoctin Avenue in Frederick, Maryland, formerly of Easton, died Thursday in Frederick Memorial Hospital.
He worked for Alpha Portland Cement Co for 39 years until retiring in January 1985.
Born September 26, 1920, in Franklin Hill, Pa, he was a son of the late Lawrence J Sr. and Rosabelle Fritts Holland.
Mr. Holland was a member of the Evangelical Lutheran Church in Frederick and Irving Brandt Veterans of Foreign Wars, Post 6147 in Martin’s Creek. He served with the U.S. Army Air Force during World War 2 in this Pacific theater.
Surviving are his wife, the format Ethel Mae Vandergrift; two sons, a daughter, and five grandchildren.
Services will be held at noon today in evangelical Lutheran Congregation Church. Interment will be in the Rest Haven Memorial Gardens in Frederick. The Smith Keeney Bradford Funeral Home of 106 East Church Street in Frederick is in charge of arrangements.
