Erwin Woodring, 84, was Retired Butcher
Erwin T. Woodring, a retired backer and butcher, died yesterday at the Bachman Convalescent Home, Nazareth, where he had been a patient since April 1945. He formerly resided with his sister, Mrs. Amanda Gable, in Bethlehem, and before his illness, lived with a nephew, Oliver S. Woodring, Easton R.D. 2.
He was engaged in the baker business with the Schaffer Bakery at Bath, and was in the butcher business in Bangor, Bethlehem and Allentown, retiring 12 years ago. Born in Hanover Township, Feb. 2, 1862, he was a son of the late Thomas and Maria Schaefer Woodring. He was a member of the Evangelical Reformed congregation of Altonah, Church, in Macada.
He is survived by two sisters, Mrs. Camilla Stout, of Nazareth R. D3, and Mrs. Gable of Bethlehem, and a number of nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held Sunday at 2:30 p.m. from the F.W. Schimdt Mortuary, Belvidere and Fairview Streets, Nazareth, with the Rev. H.J. Ehret officiating. Entombment will be in the mausoleum in Memorial Park Cemetery, Bethlehem. |
