Frank Wilhelm, Auxiliary Police Chief in Easton
Frank Wilhelm, 63, chief of the auxiliary police in Easton,
died this morning in Easton Hospital. His home was at 724 Arndt
Road, Forks Township.
Mr. Wilhlem was employed as a crane operator at Treadwell
Engineering Co. for 30 years. He retired five years ago because
of ill health. In his earlier life he was a trolleyman and
bus driver for the Lehigh Valley Transit Co. He was an auxiliary
Easton policeman 10 years.
Born Aug. 19, 1901, in Raubsville, he was a son of the late
John and Catherine Reeves Wilhelm.
He served with the Army in France during World War I. He was
a member of St. Paul's Lutheran Church, Easton; the state Council
of Civilian Defense, and the Order of Fleas, Easton.
At one time he coached baseball for Rice-Ebner Post, American
Legion teams.
Survivors include his widow, the former Bella Arndt; a daughter;
three sisters, Florence, wife of Frank Creveling, Easton; Catharine,
wife of Max Lienhardt, who moved to Womelsdorf, Pa., from Forks
Township last week, and Mrs. Myrtle Hines, Miami, Fla., and
two grandchildren.
The funeral will be held at 1:30 p.m. Monday at the Strunk
Funeral Home, Easton.
