Two Men Hit By Automobiles: One Died in warren Hospital.
Calvin D. Wilhelm, Elizabeth Street, Phillipsburg, Sustained
Fractured Skull; Frank Ihrie Badly Injured
Two male residents of Phillipsburg were struck by automobiles
last evening and both were taken to Warren Hospital. One of
the victims died. He was Calvin D. Wilhelm , of 15-A Elizabeth
street. The other is Frank Ihrie of Cedar Street.
Mr. Wilhelm who was 55 years old, sustained a fracture of
the skull when he was struck by ite automobile of Herman L.
Beers, of Belvidere roa, the accident happening in South Main
Street, neary Tyndall Avenue. The driver of the machine stopped
as soon as possible,a nd Wilhelm was taken to the office of
Dr. Homer Bloom, after which he was taken to Warren Hostial
in the machine of Mr. Beers. Officer Graham accompanied him.
Dr. Paul Drake, hospital physician attended to the injuries
of Mr. Wilhelm, and the victim of the accident died shortly
abefore 7 o'clock this morning.
Deceased wass a native of Phillipsburg, where he resided all
his life, and he had many friends. He was a son of the late
Mr. and Mrs. Geroge W. Wilhelm, his fther, a number of years
ago having been a prominent railrad man. He is survived by
his wife, five children, Watson and George Wilhelm, Mrs. John
Crane and Mrs. Oliver DeLong, of Phillipsburg, and Mrs. Nelson
fo Jersy City and a sister, Miss Ella Wilhelm, of Jersey City.
Deceased was a member of the phillipsburg Fire Company and
the Exempt Firemen's Association. |
