Mrs. Mary Walter, Northampton County’s centenarian is dead. She passed away this morning at 7:15 o’clock, at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Mary Snyder, on South Seventeenth Street, Easton. Deceased was 104 years of age yesterday. Recently while walking in the rear of her home, she suffered a bad fall, spraining her left wrist and severely bruising her left side. Since last February Mrs. Walter has been demented. Lately Mrs. Snyder has had much trouble in keeping the aged mother from wandering away from the house. Mrs. Walter is the widow of William Walter, who died in Forks Township thirty-three years ago on this sixtieth birthday. He was a soldier in the war of 1812. Her father was William Bonstein, of Palmer Township, who was a soldier of the revolution. Seven of her nine children survive her. They are Mrs. David Lawall, of Hecktown; Mrs. Matilda Peters, of Bethlehem; Mrs. William Walter, of near Moorestown, Mrs. Catherine Wagner and Mrs. Ellen Schnable, of Bethlehem township; Dr. Barnet C. Walter, of Farmersville, and Mrs. Mary Snyder, of Easton. She also leaves twenty-seven grandchildren, forty great-grandchildren and eight great-great grandchildren.
