Robert S. Walters, 71, Wind Gap War Bet
Robert S. Walters, 71, of 46 Lehigh Ave., Wind Gap, died
at 4:18 a.m. today in Easton Hospital. He was hospitalized
December 14.
Mrs. Walters was employed as a custodian by the Wind Gap
Post Office since its dedication. Before that he was a custodian
for the Vinnie Blouse Co., Wind Gap, and its predecessor,
Kauffman's Mill, for about 30 years.
He served in the Army during World War I.
Born in Palmer Township on Dec 17, 1890, he was a son of
the late William and Marietta Nicklos Walters. He lived in
Wind Gap 37 years.
He was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church, Wind Gap; Court
Hope 40, Foresters Lodge, Pen Argyl; Odd Fellows Lodge 1003,
Wind Gap, and the Wind Gap Rod & Gun Club.
Surviving are his widow, the former Jennie M. Houser; and
a brother Charles Walters, Nazareth R.D.3. Two brothers,
Harry and Howard, and a sister, Mrs. Harry Branch, died before
him.
The funeral will be held at 1:30 p.m. Tuesday at the Schmidt
Home, Wind Gap.
