Two Brothers Die Within 24 Hours
Two brothers, natives of Edelmans, Plainfield Township,
died within 24 hours of each other. The first, Victor C.
Walter, 47, was found dead in bed yesterday morning at his
home in Catasauqua, after an illness of month. G. Samuel
Walter, 48, veteran of World War I, died this morning at
the home of a sister, Mrs. Victor F.. Kale, No. 9 North street,
Nazareth. He had been ill or nearly a year and had been at
the Kale home only a few days.
They were the two youngest children of the late Amandus
and Aravesta Rice Walter, of Edelmans.
Victor Walter had resided in Catasauqua for the last nine
years. He is survived by his wife; two sons Charles W. and
Earl J. Walter, and six daughters, Betty I., Jennie C., Joyce
R., Shirley J., Doris J., and Gladys E. Walter all at home.
G. Samuel Water never married.
The two men are survived by two brothers and two sisters:
Fred Walter and Mrs. Kale, of Nazareth; William Walter and
Mrs. Ida Long, of Allentown.
Funeral services for Victor Walter will be held on Thursday
at 1:30 p.m. at the O.S. Burkholder funeral home. Third and
Walnut Streets, Catasauqua, and interment will be in St.
John's cemetery, Mickleys.
The funeral of G. Samuel Walter will be held on Saturday. |
