Preston J. Uhler
Preston J. Uhler, 85, of 101 Summit St., Reading, Pa., where he resided with his daughter, Arlene Dietrich, died Thursday in Community Hospital. Reading. He was formerly of Butztown, Pa. and 935 S. Filmore St., Allentown.
He retired as a bus driver for the Lehigh Valley Transit Co., Allentown, after 43 years of service.
Born in Butztown, he was a son of the late Milton and Annie Danner Uhler.
He was a member of Grace Lutheran church, Allentown.
Surviving in addition to his daughter are his wife, the former Carrie Reese Arndt, Valley Manor Nursing Home, Coopersburg; another daughter, Mrs. Isabel Young, Northampton; a step-daughter, Mrs. Pearl Hill, Nazareth; a sister, Mrs. Laura Frey, Hellertown; five grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren and five great-great-grandchildren.
A son, Sterling Uhler, died in December 1977.
Services were held yesterday in the Werley Funeral Home, Allentown. Interment was in St. Mark’s Cemetery, Allentown. |
