Charles D. Uhler Sr., Engineer on LVRR
Charles D. Uhler Sr., 61, of 351 S. 3rd St., Lehighton, died Monday night in Gnaden Huetten Memorial Hospital, Lehighton, where he had been a patient since June 9.
He was employed for 37 years as a locomotive engineer until May 30 at the Lehigh Valley Railroad.
Born in Petersville, Northampton County, he was a one of the late Milton and Annie Danner Uhler. He was a resident of Lehighton for the last 38 years.
Mr. Uhler was a member of the Grace Lutheran church, Lehighton and was affiliated with the Masonic Lodge of Stroudsburg, Lehigh consistory, of Allentown, American Legion Home Association, Lehighton and the Brotherhood of locomotive engineers.
Surviving are his widow, the former Edna M. Walck; a daughter, *****, Butler; two sons, ******, Catskill, N.Y. and ******., Lehighton; a sister Mrs. Laura Frey, Hellertown; tow brothers, Preston, Allentown and Victor, Freemanburg; and five grandchildren. |
