Dr. O. H. Uhler
Dr. O.H. Uhler, for more than 42 years a practicing dentist in Allentown at his residence, 1926 Greenleaf street, that city, aged 71.
Dr. Uhler, with Dr. Howard S. Seip shared the distinction of being the deans of the dental profession in that community and on November 14, 1928, they were feted by the Allentown Dental society in recognition of their many years of service in that city. Both of them were graduated from the University of Pennsylvania Dental School in 1887.
Dr. Uhler,a son of Richard and Sarah Schoch Uhler, was born in Forks Township, this county on September 2, 1859. After his elementary and scholastic education he entered the University of Pennsylvania,. Upon his graduation he started practice in Bethlehem but before the end of the year went to Allentown, opening an office.
He was a member of the various dental association, a charter member of Allentown Lodge of Elks and was affiliated with the various Masonic bodies. He was a member of St. Matthew’s Lutheran church.
Dr. Uhler was a bachelor. He is survived by his brother, Madison B. Uhler of Nazareth; two nephews, Clayton Uhler, of 1231 Buskhill street , Easton and Warren Uhler, of Nazareth; two nieces, Mrs. Frank Stettler, and Mrs. Catherine Chapman, of Nazareth.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday at 2 p.m. at the funeral parlors of Undertaker Wunderly. Interment will be made I the Forks Church cemetery. |
