ALBERT D. SHOOK, FORMER BANGOR TAVERN OWNER
Albert D. Shook, 67, of Bangor, was found dead Saturday beside his trailer on Washington street, Bangor. Martin J. Bechtel, Northampton County coroner said death was caused by a cerebral hemorrhage. Officer Glenwood Lewis, of the Bangor police, notified the coroner.
Mr. Shook was proprietor of Shook's Tavern on Washington street, Bangor, until last winter, when the building was razed for construction of a new road from Bangor to East Bangor. Since that time he had been living in the trailer. Before going into the tavern business, Mr. Shook operated an auto repair shop in Bangor.
A son of the late Irvin and Armina Best Shook, he resided all his life in the Bangor area. His wife, Annie Weidman Shook, died in 1952.
He was a member of Christ Lutheran Church, Stone Church; F. and A.M. Lodge 311, of Portland; Lehigh Consistory, Allentown; the Shrine lodge in Wilkes-Barre; Rescue Fire Co., Bangor; Bangor Lodge 1106 Elks, and the Jacksonian Club, Bangor.
His closest relatives are nephews and nieces.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday at 2 p.m. at the Horton Funeral Home, Johnsonville. |
