George E. Schlamb, age 87, of Nazareth, died Thursday in St. Lukes Hospital.
He was the husband of Vincenta Winnie (Rampulla) Schlamb for 58 years. Born in
Plainfield Township, he was a son of the late Franklin and Myrtie (Miller) Schlamb.
He retired from the former Penn Dixie Cement Company as a quarry foreman. He
was a member of Holy Family Catholic Church, Nazareth. He was a life member of
V.F.W. Post 4366, Nazareth, a founder of the Nazareth West End Sportsmen Association,
an avid fisherman and a member of Holy Family Sick & Relief Society. He was
a veteran of World War II with three Bronze Stars, Invasion of France, Northern
France, Rhineland and Normandy.
Survivors: His wife; a daughter, son, four grandchildren.
He was predeceased by a brother, William, and sister, Anna
Sandt.
Services: military, 9:30 a.m.Tuesday, Reichel Funeral Home,
220 Washington Park, Nazareth, followed by a Mass at 10 a.m.
in Holy Family Catholic Church, Nazareth. Viewing Monday evening,
7:00-8:30 p.m. in the funeral home. |
