Theodore K. Schafer, Ph.D., 77, of Nazareth (Plainfield Township)
died Tuesday, January 3, 2006 at his home. He was the husband
of Dorothy A. (Everitt) Schafer, who died June 10, 2005.
Born in Nazareth, PA, he was the son of the late Theodore
R. and Eva M. (Knecht) Schafer. He was a High School Chemistry
Teacher for the Central Bucks School District in Buckingham,
PA for over 30 years before retiring in 1988.
A member of St. Johns U.C.C. Church, Nazareth, PA and a former
member of the Choir. He was a 50 year member of the International
Association of Lions Clubs and member of the Local Lions Club,
Nazareth, PA; a member of the Vigilance Hose Co. #1, Nazareth,
PA; a member of the Whitfield Lodge #622 F. & A.M.; a member
of Consistory Valley of Allentown, PA; a member of Forks of
the Delaware High 12 Club #591; a noble member of the Bethlehem
Shrine Club; a member of the Rajah Shriners, Reading, PA; a
member of the Loyal Order of Moose Lodge #1284, Doylestown,
PA; a member of American Legion Post #724, Wind Gap, PA. He
served his country as a Peacetime veteran in the Army. He was
a graduate of Nazareth High School, University of New Hampshire,
Moravian College, and Lehigh University earning a Ph.D. in
Bio-Chemistry. He was a member of Phi Delta Kappa International,
American Chemical Society (Emeritus), Lehigh Valley Chapter
of the American Chemical Society; a member of the Moravian
College Alumni Assoc., Kellys Club, Doylestown, PA; PA State
Employees Assoc. - Northeast Region; PA Dutch Grundsow Lodge
Ains on Die Lechaw, Germansville, PA; Member of the American
Assn. of Retired Persons.
Survivors: Cousin.
Services: 1 p.m. Monday, January 9, 2006 at St. Johns U.C.C.,
Broad and Prospect streets, Nazareth, with calling hour prior
to service noon-1 p.m.in the church. Masonic services, 12:30
p.m. in the church. Arrangements by the Bartholomew-Schisler
Funeral Home, 211 E. Center Street, Nazareth, PA 18064. Burial
immediately following services at Greenwood Cemetery Assoc.,
High St., Nazareth, PA. |
