James M. Sandt, Former Executive at Taylor-Wharton
James M. Sandt, 82, of 3 Aicher Drive in Palmer Township, died Thursday in Wilson.
He was vice president and general manger of the Taylor-Wharton Co., formerly in Palmer Township, from 1942 until retiring in 1971.
Born Jan 6, 1906 in new Castle, pa., he was a son of the late Herman E. and Ella Mammann Sandt.
A graduate of Blair Academy in Blairstown, he attended Cornell University and Lafayette College.
Mr. Sandt served as a coordinating engineer for the Palmer Township Sewer Authority for many years until retiring. Following retirement, he served as a consultant.
He was a member of Lehigh Valley Engineers Club.
In 1978k he received a semi-centennial certificate from the class of 1928 of Lafayette College for a half century of useful service.
His wife, the former Elizabeth G. Keller, died in 1986.
Surviving are a son, *****, of Easton; a daughter ***** of Easton; a brother, Robert E. of Worton, Md.
A graveside service will be held at 9 a.m. Monday in the Easton Cemetery. The Shillinger Funeral Home in Easton is in charge of arrangements. |
