George W. Riehl
George W. Riehl, 63, of 244 W. Wilkes-Barre St., Easton, died
Monday in Easton Hospital after being stricken at home.
Born in Easton, he was a son of the late Charles A. and Mary
Margaret Garis Riehl.
He formerly was a bookkepper for Ross Distributing Agency,
Easton, where he worked for more than 25 years. He served in
the U.S. Army during World War II, in the European theater.
He was a member of Christ United Methodist Church, Easton.
Mr. Riehl also was a member of the Veteran of Foreign Wars;
Rice-Ebner American Legion Post No. 588; Elks Lodge No. 121;
Loyal Order of Moose Lodge 45, and the Varsity E Club, all
of Easton. He was a life member of the Order of the Fleas,
Citizens Hose Co., Liberty Hose Co. No. 2 and the Pioneer Athletic
Association, all of Easton, and the West Easton Athletic Association.
Survivors include his wife, the former Janet Fullerton; a
step-daughter, **** of Atkinson, N.H.; two brothers,
Charles A. and Philip E. both of Easton; a sister, Elizabeth
Riehl of Easton, and three step-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held 11 a.m. in the Strunk Funeral
Home, Easton. Interment will be in South Easton Cemetery. |
