Thomas Ricketts Is Dead From Bullet Wound
Thomas Roy Ricketts, 55, of 143 West Cooper Street was found
dead yesterday afternoon in the basement of his home with
a bullet wound in his upper abdomen, by his wife, when she
returned froma visit to a physician. Dr. Paul Drake was notified
and he in turn notified Dr. D. F. Bachman, of Bethlehem,
Northampotn County Coroner. After an investigation Dr. Bachman
issued a certificate of death by his own hand with suicidal
intent. Mr. Richetts had been in ill health for the last
eight years.
He was a native of South Side, and was born Sept 2, 1888,
a son of William T. Ricketts, of 325 Seitz Street and the
Late Mrs. Minne May Ricketts.
He was a well-known baseball palyer in his younger days,
being a pitcher with the Pioneer Club. He had been employed
in the compressor department of the Ingersoll-Rand Company,
for the past 40 years.
Mr. Ricketts was a member of St. John's Lutheran Church,
Easton Aerie. No. 111, Fraternal Order of Eagles, Easton
Lodge No. 45, Loyal Order of Moose and the Brewery Workers
Union.
Surviving are his widow, Mary Anna Ricketts; two children,
Mrs. Frank Bechtel and Elmer J. Ricketts, fo Easton, and
two granchildren: Thomas and Joanne Bechtel.
