Jacob H. Paulus, War II Vet, was With Penn-Dixie
Jacob Henry Paulus, 41, of 52 South St., Nazareth, died this
morning in Allentown State Hospital. He was admitted there
eight weeks ago. Mr. Paulus served with the Air Force in World War II from
1942 to 1945. He spent two years in the Pacific Theater.
He was employed as a repairman at Plant 4 of the Penn-Dixie
Cement Co. since 1945.
Born in Bethlehem on April 29, 1921, he was a son of the late
Granville and Florence Dech Paulus. He resided in Nazareth
nine years. Before that he lived in Bath.
He was a member of St. John's Lutheran Church, Nazareth; VFW
Home, Nazareth; Jacksonian Democratic Club, Nazareth; and the
Easton Lawn, Nazareth, Hecktown and Bath Volunteer Fire Companies.
Surviving are his widow, the former Grace A. Smith; a daughter,
Eleanor, at home; three sons, Larry, Arthur and ****, all
at home, a brother, Watler, Crum Lynne, Pa., and a sister,
Mary wife of Harry Gerstenberg, Bethlehem.
The funeral will be held at 2 p.m Saturday at the Schmidt
Mortuary, Nazareth.
